OPAL is an award-winning, mentor supported school improvement programme that supports schools to improve the quality of their play opportunities. OPAL is the only programme of its kind that has been independently proven to sustainably improve the quality of play in British primary schools.

This embeds play into the school’s policies and practices and establishes clear guiding principles and strategies for initiating lasting changes at playtimes. 

OPAL has been in place at Stoneydelph since November 2024 and has already transformed play opportunities for our pupils. We are excited to continue our OPAL journey and improve our school grounds further to emable all children to benefit from high quality play.
